MKA hosted its 2026 Montessori Education Week, welcoming parents into the classroom to witness firsthand the joy and depth of Montessori learning. Students across age groups proudly presented their work, demonstrating the unique structure and impact of the Montessori three-year work cycle (ages 3–6). Parents explored how this cycle supports developmental growth, fosters independence, and builds confidence through hands-on learning.
Highlights from the Primary Classrooms
Children guided parents through lessons in the five core curriculum areas of a Primary Montessori classroom:
- Practical Life
- Sensorial
- Math
- Language
- Cultural Studies
Younger students observed and learned from their older peers, while the older children showcased leadership and mastery of complex concepts. This dynamic, multi-age environment nurtures self-esteem and a strong sense of responsibility, accomplishment, and independence.
Older Kids Class: History Comes Alive
In a special project, each student in the older kids class selected a historical event to research. They compiled their findings into visually engaging trifold boards and presented their work to parents. This exercise not only deepened their understanding of history but also strengthened public speaking and presentation skills. The pride and ownership they displayed were a testament to the Montessori emphasis on student-led learning.
A Community Celebration of Growth
The event was a resounding success, with enthusiastic parent participation and vibrant student engagement. Thank you to all the families who joined us in celebrating the curiosity, creativity, and confidence of our students.
