Celebrating Holiday Traditions at MKA: A Season of Joy, Community, and Creativity

Holiday party celebration

The holiday season is always a special time at Montessori Kids Academy, and this year was no exception. Our school was filled with joy, laughter, and meaningful traditions that brought students, families, and staff together in celebration. From creative arts to festive performances, each event reflected the heart of our community — connection, inclusivity, and the simple joy of being together.

A Festive Start: The Elegant Elf Bazaar & Art Display

One of the highlights of the season was our Elegant Elf Bazaar, a cheerful gathering that welcomed parents, siblings, and friends onto our campus. The school transformed into a holiday marketplace where families could browse festive booths, enjoy seasonal treats, and admire a beautiful display of student artwork.

Children proudly showcased their creativity through paintings and drawings, while many arrived dressed in adorable elf costumes to add to the fun. Cookie decorating stations kept little hands busy, and our Primary Leaders (PLCs) hosted a warm and cozy hot chocolate stand to raise funds for their upcoming field trip.

Of course, no holiday event is complete without a visit from Santa! Families captured sweet memories with photos, making the day even more magical. The bazaar was a wonderful success — a perfect blend of creativity, community, and holiday cheer.

Christmas Program: A Night of Music, Stories, and Togetherness

Our annual Christmas Program brought families together for an evening of performances that truly showcased the spirit of the season. Each class, from primary to elementary, took the stage dressed in festive outfits and holiday headpieces. Students sang Christmas songs, recited lines from ’Twas the Night Before Christmas, and our elementary students delighted the audience with a charming Christmas play.

The fun continued with a lively round of Christmas Jeopardy, where children and parents laughed, learned, and cheered each other on. After the performances, families gathered to enjoy seasonal snacks and connect with one another — a heartwarming way to end a memorable evening.

More Holiday Fun Throughout the Season

Beyond the major events, MKA students enjoyed a variety of festive activities that kept the excitement going all month long, including:

  • In-house pottery painting
  • Ugly sweater day
  • Pajama day
  • Polar Express movie day
  • Holiday book exchange
  • Bingo games

Each activity added its own touch of joy, giving students opportunities to express themselves, bond with classmates, and experience the magic of the season in age-appropriate, meaningful ways.

A Season to Remember

This year’s holiday celebrations at MKA were filled with warmth, creativity, and community spirit. These traditions not only bring joy to our students but also strengthen the connection between families and the school — something we value deeply.

As we look ahead to a new year, we’re grateful for the memories made and excited for the many experiences still to come at Montessori Kids Academy.
