At Montessori Kids Academy, we believe education is more than academics; it’s the foundation for life. Since our founding in 2007, we’ve embraced the timeless principles of Dr. Maria Montessori to create a learning environment that nurtures the whole child: socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually.
A Child-Centered Approach to Learning
Our Montessori curriculum is designed to honor each child’s unique strengths and potential. We foster independence, creativity, and critical thinking through self-directed, hands-on learning experiences. Children work at their own pace, following their interests and developing a love for learning that lasts a lifetime.
Core Curriculum Areas in the Prepared Environment
MKA’s classrooms are thoughtfully arranged to support exploration across five key areas:
- Practical Life: Builds everyday skills, coordination, and independence.
- Sensorial: Enhances sensory perception and cognitive development.
- Language: Strengthens communication, reading, and writing abilities.
- Math: Introduces foundational concepts through tactile materials.
- Culture: Explores science, geography, history, music, and art.
Each area features carefully selected Montessori materials that guide children toward mastery through repetition, discovery, and purposeful engagement.
The Three-Hour Work Cycle
Our daily three-hour work cycle allows children uninterrupted time to dive deep into learning. They may choose to work with the same material for extended periods, fostering independence, creativity and critical thinking skills in children of various ages and developmental stages.
Weekly Themes and Enrichment Programs
Weekly lessons are built around engaging themes and developmentally appropriate activities. Our guides present individual and small group lessons, encouraging children to move freely and responsibly between tasks.
We also offer a robust enrichment program that includes:
- Spanish & French
- Coding & Robotics
- Arts & Music
- Gardening & Cooking
- Physical Education
- Reading Program
- Computer IXL Program
These experiences expand our students’ horizons and support holistic development.
Empowering Independent Thinkers
By directing their own learning, children at MKA build confidence, autonomy, and self-management skills. Our graduates consistently demonstrate strong independent thinking and a deep sense of responsibility for their growth.
If you’re seeking a preschool or early childhood program that prioritizes whole-child development, Montessori Kids Academy offers a proven, nurturing path. Our curriculum is designed to meet children where they are—and help them grow into curious, capable, and compassionate individuals.
